It may have only been a couple of months since Apple released its new iPhones, but already rumors about the next iPhone have started circulating. Apple is expected to stick with its traditional release cycle for its 2014 flagship, which means that we can expect it to be announced in or around September. So far there has been a steady stream of rumors, some believe it will have a larger display and will be thinner and lighter than its predecessors. The latest rumor suggests that the iPhone 6 will retain the Touch ID fingerprint scanner that debuted with the existing flagship, the iPhone 5s.

Taiwan Semiconductor or TSMC is the manufacturer that produces Touch ID sensors for the iPhone 5s. Rumor has it that the manufacturer has secured a contract to start producing said sensors for the next generation iPhone in Q2, 2014. This falls in line with the other rumors we have been hearing, presumably production of these scanners will coincide with mass production of iPhone 6, which is expected to begin either by the end of Q2 or at the start of Q3, 2014. As always, Apple is mum about its smartphone plans and is yet to drop any hints of what we can expect from 2014’s flagship iPhone.
