Liquid Image 800 Ego LS 3Qtr on white background[CES 2014] Cameras designed to be worn and used in sports is not new. We’ve seen many of them in the past, such as the GoPro which is a pretty popular name when it comes to such devices. Well if you’re in the market for something similar for your next action-packed holiday or event, perhaps Liquid Image might be a company worth considering, especially with the announcement of the first 4G LTE enabled wearable and mountable camera in the form of the Ego LS, which the company expects to demonstrate come CES 2014 which will be taking place in a few days’ time.

The Ego LS, in terms of being a camera, is more or less standard and has the ability to record videos in WQVGA quality at 30fps, as well as being able to snap photos in low or high resolution. What makes the Ego LS particularly unique and interesting is that it comes with a 4G LTE module that allows users to hook onto 4G LTE networks (requires a SIM) in which they are able to utilize their internet connectivity to transfer videos and photos onto their mobile device through an accompanying app, as well as the ability to deliver a live video stream of their footage as it takes place.

Of course for those who don’t see the need for 4G LTE, Liquid Image has a regular model which does come with WiFi and Bluetooth, essentially offering the same features, just minus the convenience of a mobile network. Both the LTE and non-LTE versions will be priced the same at $199.99, with the main difference being its battery life, with the LTE model expected to use more battery. The Liquid Image Ego LS camera will be available come June 2014.
