xiaomi-store-1Xiaomi might not necessarily be a name known to many outside of China, and unsurprisingly so as the company’s products have typically been limited to a release in China. However they have been getting some attention as of late as they have managed to hire ex-Googler, Hugo Barra. That being said, we expect with Barra’s expertise in Android that we can look forward to better Android products from Xiaomi, and perhaps that might come in the form of the Xiaomi Mi4, the company’s rumored upcoming flagship smartphone.

Just recently the handset was spotted on the AnTuTu benchmarks and assuming that the results are accurate and that this is the Mi4 we are looking at, it certainly looks like it will be packing quite a punch. The benchmarks have revealed that the handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 chipset clocked at 2.46GHz, a Full HD display, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP rear-facing camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera, and will be accompanied by 16GB of onboard storage. The benchmarks also revealed that the Xiaomi Mi4 was running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, although hopefully it will be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat upon its release. No word on when Xiaomi plans on unveiling the Mi4, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info.
