Android updates can often take a lot of time to reach end users. For quite a while now Galaxy S4 owners have been waiting for the Android 4.4.2 update, and even though KitKat has started to roll out for some, millions are still having to live without a taste of the chocolatey goodness. For the adventurous, a new Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Android 4.4.2 test build has leaked, those who’re still on Android 4.3 or a previous KitKat leaked build can now jump up on the latest leak.

The I9505XXUFNAD update carries a build date of January 28th and is based on Android 4.4.2, the second incremental update of Google’s latest iteration of its mobile operating system. While the update doesn’t bring any major features, it does bring some system improvements as well as minor user interface changes. A noticeable change is that instead of multi-color icons that have become staple on Samsung devices, the update brings KitKat themed white status bar icons. Other nominal improvements include a camera shortcut on the lockscreen, display of album art in full screen and improved keyboard layout in landscape mode. Android 4.4.2 bells and whistles include new emojis, wireless printing, ability to change default launchers and more. The leaked Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Android 4.4.2 update can be downloaded from here, keep in mind that flashing an unofficial build comes with its risks, so proceed only if you’re absolutely sure of what you’re getting yourself into.
