Nokia_Lumia_520_smartphone_review_inline_image_mainIt is no secret that as far as Windows Phone handsets are concerned, the Nokia Lumia 520 is the best of them. This isn’t because it has the best specs. In fact the Lumia 520 is one of the lower-end Windows Phone handsets, and combined with its budget price tag, it was found to be the most popular Windows Phone handset. However it seems that’s not where the accolades end, because during the 2014 GMA Awards, the Nokia Lumia 520 was awarded the title of the Best Low Cost Smartphone.

Yup, you read that right, amongst all the budget Android phones available in the market, it looks like Nokia and Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform has taken the title of Best Low Cost Smartphone. According to the description of the handset, “The Nokia Lumia 520 is one of Nokia’s most affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphones, delivering experiences normally only found in high-end smartphones.”

This was followed by the judges’ comments which read, “A smartphone that hasn’t compromised on quality – a trailblazer for Nokia’s low-cost efforts” The good news for Lumia 520 users who don’t want to upgrade yet, you will be getting further use out of your handset once Windows Phone 8.1 is released.

A recent video made its way online which showed the latest Windows Phone update running without any issues on the Lumia 520, so that’s something to look forward to, especially with features like Cortana that will help revitalize the handset.
