AW120_OR_front.highPhotographers, if you’re on the lookout for a new camera that will be able to withstand the rough terrain, then Nikon might have something for you in the form of the Nikon Coolpix AW120, a rugged camera that Nikon claims is waterproof, shockproof, and freezeproof, making it the ideal camera for you to bring on an outdoors trip. Of course these protective features will only protect to a certain extent, so to dive into specifics, the AW120 is waterproof up to depths of 18m, shockproof from drops as high as 2m, and freezeproof from temperatures as cold as -10C.

In terms of additional specs, the Coolpix AW120 will feature a 16MP sensor and will come with a 24-120mm lens with an aperture of f/2.8-4.9 The camera will come with built-in WiFi connectivity that will allow you to transfer photos from the camera onto a separate device without the need for wires, which can be handy if you’re outdoors and want to carry as little equipment as possible. Other features include GPS connectivity as well so that you can geotag your photos, built-in world maps and a compass to help you navigate your way around as well.

Full HD video capture will be one of the AW120’s features and photographers even have the option of filming in slow-motion at speeds from 15 to 240fps. The Nikon Coolpix AW120 will also feature a 3-inch OLED display and will go on sale starting 27th February 2014 for $349.95.
