We’ve been hearing rumors about this particular Nexus 5 for the past couple of weeks and today it has finally been made official. The red Nexus 5 has been released today, there’s nothing new about this smartphone apart from its color. It comes right in time for Valentine’s Day, so if you’ve been holding out on giving a Nexus 5 to a loved one, now might be the perfect time to go ahead with the purchase. The red Nexus 5 is available for purchase right away from Google Play. Since we have received our own unit, here are the real world photos:

There’s a slight advantage for people living in the San Francisco Bay Area. They can order their red Nexus 5 through Google Shopping Express and receive it the very same day, no need to wait for a couple of days. To give you a refresher, the Nexus 5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor with 2GB RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 2,300mAh battery. It also happens to be the very first smartphone to ship with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed. The Nexus lineup is popular because it packages high-end specifications with a relatively low off-contract price, which makes it an enticing option for customers who want the best in Android, but don’t wish to be tied down to a conventional service contract.
