Both Samsung and Mandalay Sports Media have come together in order to offer this particular thing called “second screen content” to the masses, where it will be distributed through a range of Samsung products. Right now, the second screen content idea is in the initial phase of the partnership, where Mandalay Sports Media will see the incorporation of the “second screen storytelling experience” on new and original content, which will show off productions that begin with the script writing process all the while offering an interactive experience for users throughout the entire length of development and production.
This second screen content will be made available on 2012, 2013 and 2014 Samsung Smart TVs in addition to a wide range of tablets and smartphones. The second screen experience was specially designed so that a new and immersive genre for home entertainment can be introduced to the world, and via this partnership, Mandalay Sports Media is working on a range of shows which will work in tandem with Samsung’s Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) technology platform so that complementary and supplementary content experiences for TV programming can be enjoyed.
Rich Battista, CEO of Mandalay Sports Media, shared, “We are excited to be working with one of the most innovative companies at the intersection of technology and media. Samsung understands our vision for creating story driven content in both the scripted and unscripted space, and when combined with their robust second screen platform, we will jointly provide their millions of users with groundbreaking interactive experiences.” [Press Release]
