IMG_0047-321x420Wearable technology is definitely a big thing and it has only been growing. In fact this year we’ve seen efforts from LG, Samsung, Motorola, and Sony and we’re still pretty early in the year. What this means is that it is possible that there could be more wearable devices that we’ve yet to see and it’s possible that Acer could be next.

According to recent invites that Acer has handed out, the company will be hosting an event on the 29th of April in New York City. Unfortunately the invite does not mention what Acer could be unveiling, but it does come with a tagline that reads, “Touch, More Connected” which some have taken to mean that Acer could be using that event to unveil new wearables.

If anything this would be in line with a report from earlier this year which revealed that Acer has plans for wearable technology, although what exactly remains unknown. Earlier rumors have suggested a wrist-related device, like a smartwatch or maybe a fitness band, while other claim headwear, and there was also talk about it being a necklace-like device.

Of course it is entirely possible that Acer could unveil new smartphones instead of wearable tech at the event, but in the past Acer’s phone launches didn’t exactly require a press event, thus suggesting that this could be something pretty big. Either way check back with us on the 29th of April for the details, but in the meantime who’s excited for possible Acer wearables?
