diablo-3-ps3-xbox-360-september-3Good news Xbox One gamers, if you were wondering if Diablo 3 would be developed for the console, you might be pleased to learn that it will be. This was semi-confirmed by Diablo 3 lead producer Alex Mayberry to the folks at VideoGamer who revealed that the game for console is being developed alongside the PlayStation 4 version as well.

According to Mayberry, “I don’t know where we are with Microsoft right now so I can’t really comment on what that contract looks like.” However he did acknowledge that the game for the Xbox One platform is in development, “The point is we are developing for Xbox [One] and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run.”

Mayberry states that it made sense for them to develop for both platforms simultaneously and leave it to Blizzard and Microsoft to come to some kind of agreement, as opposed to developing for one platform and then having to start from scratch again once the Xbox One had been confirmed.

Diablo 3 for the console was released last year where it was made available on both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. A recent sighting earlier this year also hinted at the possibility of Diablo 3 for the Xbox One (we already know the PlayStation 4 version is being developed), but it was only today that Blizzard officially confirmed it.

However Blizzard at the moment cannot confirm that Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition (contains both Diablo 3 and the expansion) will be arriving for the Xbox One.
