facebook-unfollowWe know that Facebook on the web has many active users a month, numbering in the hundreds of millions, if not over a billion already. But how many active mobile users does Facebook have? Well according to Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO, he has revealed that Facebook has managed to achieve the milestone of 1 billion active Facebook mobile users a month.

This was revealed during an investor call in which Facebook discussed the company’s recent plans to acquire Oculus VR, the company behind the Oculus Rift virtual reality technology. This 1 billion milestone is a jump from back in the fourth quarter of 2013 where Facebook’s active mobile users numbered at 945 million a month, which was out of the company’s total number of users which is around 1.23 billion last we heard.

At the same time during the investor call, they also revealed that over 20 billion photos have since been posted onto Instagram since it was launched. For those who did not know or who might have forgotten, Facebook acquired Instagram about 2 years ago for $1 billion. For the most part the app has remained largely independent and apart from some changes made to the UI and with new features, Facebook’s presence can’t really be felt, which we guess is a good thing.
