lg-g2-review-04Is the LG G3 close to launching? Based on several leaked benchmarks, screenshots, and rumors, all signs seem to be pointing to a definite yes, although when exactly that will take place remains to be seen.

However according to a report from the folks over at Geek, they have recently reported on an invite that LG has been sending internally to a training event for a certain “LG B2” product. So what has this got to do with the LG G3? Well Geek’s sources have claimed that the “B2” moniker is actually a smokescreen for something else which they are speculating could be related to the LG G3.

Based on the details of the invite, the training event will be held on the 17th and 18th of June, which seems to line up nicely with rumors that the LG G3 could indeed see a June launch. Of course it is entirely possible that the invites being sent out are fake images, so do take it with a grain of salt for now.

So far what we know about the LG G3 is that it could sport a 5.5-inch QHD display which was apparently confirmed in a UA profile sighting and a leaked screenshot. It has also been rumored to pack a MediaTek chipset that would utilize ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture. This means that the chipset will pack eight cores, four of which will be of the Cortex A17 variety and the other four will be Cortex A7s.

However other rumors claim that the phone could instead feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, but there is always the chance that there could be more than one LG G3 variant lying around which would use different chipsets for different markets. In any case hopefully more details will be revealed soon, so do check back with us at a later date for the details.
