moto-x-collegeMotorola’s flagship smartphone, the Moto X, has just been given a makeover on the outside, while the innards would more or less remain the same. Behold, the College Collection for the Moto X which will comprise of a series of customization options so that consumers are able to show off just how proud they are of their alma mater, even though it is done via taking your smartphone out from your pocket. Its College Collection launch will see the inclusion of nine new back colors as well as a trio of new accent colors to MotoMaker, so that potential buyers will be able to pick their university’s perfect color combo.

There is also a design gallery that will include pre-configured Moto X models for 43 schools, in addition to Uncommon clear cases that has the college’s logo printed on it. Apart from that, Motorola has something else for college students with the launch of a student discount so that anyone who owns a valid .edu email address are able to pick up an off-contract Moto X for $339 a pop. A smart choice if you were to pick this up, since the regular asking price for a Moto X would start from $399 as an unlocked device, or $49 with a two-year contract. [Press Release]
