tg-1Cameras come in all shapes and sizes but if you’re after something that will be able to weather the storm, perhaps a rugged camera is what you’re after and Olympus might have something for you.

The camera company has recently unveiled its latest rugged camera in the form of the Olympus STYLUS TG-3. Now in the past we have seen Olympus launch rugged cameras before so safe to say that they probably have some experience with these sorts of devices.

According to Olympus, the STYLUS TG-3 will be able to withstand water immersion up to 50 feet, shockproof from drops as high as 7 feet, and will be able to withstand up to 220 pounds of weight put onto it (just in case you were to accidentally step or to sit on it). It will also be freezeproof up to 14 degrees Fahrenheit for those who plan to take the camera with them to colder climates, and will be dustproof to top it off.

In terms of specs, the Olympus STYLUS TG-3 will feature a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor and an LED light guide around the lens. It will also come with an LED lamp to help distribute light more evenly, a microscope function, and a 4x f/2.0-4.9 25-100mm lens. The camera will also come with built-in WiFi and GPS features.

Priced at $349.99, the Olympus STYLUS TG-3 is expected to be made available later this June, so if you’d like to learn more, hit up Olympus’ website for the details.
