philips-miracastMMD, the technology company as well as brand license partner for Philips Monitors, has just announced the spanking new 239C4QHWAB 23-inch Philips Miracast display which will feature connectivity that is based on the Miracast standard. This would go some way in allowing users to be able to stream mobile content sans wires from devices that run on the Android mobile operating system in addition to other kinds of compatible hardware.

This brand new monitor would be a 16:9 device, carrying a Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Apart from that, this particular display would also feature support for 16.7 million colors, where it will be at a brightness of 250 cd/m2 to boot. The clever implementation of internal 3W speakers offer relevant audio capability, while the monitor itself sports support for HDMI and MHL wired connectivity standards.

The asking price for this spanking new monitor? We are looking at a recommended retail price of £249 (which will be the rough equivalent of $414 thereabouts) for the Philips 239C4QHWAB Miracast display. It remains to be seen whether it will arrive Stateside or not, so we will have to play the waiting game with this one. Just how much value do you think that Miracast connectivity in a monitor will add?
