blackberry-sign-bgr-231The BlackBerry Q20 is one of the few phones that BlackBerry shared at MWC 2014. Unfortunately it seems that for whatever reason, BlackBerry only plans on releasing them in September/October, meaning that BlackBerry users have a fair bit of waiting ahead of them.

However it seems that Prem Watsa, CEO of Fairfax who is the company that gave BlackBerry its financial injection, is trying to convince BlackBerry’s CEO, John Chen, to unveil the BlackBerry Q20 next month, and maybe even give a couple of handsets away as well.

Watsa had recently releasing his company’s annual shareholders newsletter, and in the newsletter, Watsa shared some of the company’s plans for an upcoming annual meeting that will be held on the 9th of April.

He also wrote that he “may even be able to convince John Chen to raffle a couple of BlackBerry Classics (the Q20).” Given that Fairfax has a fair amount of shares in BlackBerry, we have to wonder if Watsa will have the ability to convince Chen to unveil the handset and maybe even give some away this early.

We’re also curious if the phones are given away, will the owners be placed under an NDA or will they be free to boast about it and even write up some reviews for it? Either way if you were curious as to what the BlackBerry Q20 might have in store for you, perhaps we might find out next month, fingers-crossed!
