Elder-Scrolls-Online-Release-DateGood news gamers, if you were looking forward to The Elder Scrolls Online, you will be pleased to learn that it will be officially launching on the 4th of April which is next Friday, which in all honesty sounds like a great way to end the week!

However there is even better news which is that if you were to pre-order the game, you will be able to get a head start in the game compared to everyone else who did not pre-order. Interestingly enough the head starts will differ from retailer to retailer, so you might want to think about which retailer to purchase from if you have yet to pre-order the game.

For those who pre-ordered the game directly from Bethesda’s online store, you guys will be getting your head start on the 30th of March starting from 7AM EST. This will be the biggest head start so it’s worth your consideration. However for those who choose to order from other retailers, perhaps you’re trying to accumulate points or if you’re buying more than one item, your head start will begin on the 1st of April at 7AM EST, essentially putting you guys two days later.

Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls Online will be one of the few MMORPGs that will continue to employ the subscription model. This is in the face of newer MMORPGs who have opted for the free-to-play model instead which is something not many gamers are particularly fond of. Bethesda has defended their choice of the subscription model, claiming that the game will be worth gamers’ money.

So far based on early previews and sneak peeks of the game, it has been largely positive, but we guess we will just have to wait and see how the rest of the world reacts once the game has been released next week. In the meantime who else is looking forward to playing the game?
