In this day and age, whenever a particular web service goes down, it becomes huge news – especially if we are referring to a highly popular service such as Twitter or Facebook. Everyone’s favorite go-to place for cat videos, music videos and movie trailers, YouTube, was apparently down earlier today, but thankfully, the entire situation has been fixed and restored, so your life should have returned to normal.
In a statement by a YouTube spokesperson regarding the corrected situation, it was mentioned that “some people encountered errors, or a slower than normal experience on YouTube today. We worked quickly to address the issue and fixed the problem. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused.”
It remains to be seen as to just how far the issue has spread earlier today, but there was no shortage of Tweets from disgruntled users. For others, using YouTube was like playing Russian Roulette, some videos load correctly, but when a search is performed, an error will appear. Most of the time, such downtime would be pretty short, and it seemed as though this issue affected only the desktop version of YouTube, as iOS and Android YouTube apps did not seem to run into any kind of trouble or issues.
