One of the uses of drones, at least for regular folks, is that it can be used to record video and shoot photos from heights and angles that we normally wouldn’t be able to reach. Sure, you could hire a helicopter to take you around, but it’s not as nimble, not to mention potentially more expensive versus a drone where you guy take all the time you want.
If you’re interested in drones and wouldn’t mind getting your hands on one, DJI has unveiled their latest remote-controlled quadrocopter dubbed the Phantom 2 Vision+. The quadrocopter will come equipped with a 14MP camera that is capable of recording at Full HD video at 30fps. In fact it will also be able to stream back the content to you as long as you’re within 2,300 feet.
For those who owned its predecessor, the range has basically been doubled. DJI has also made improvements to its flying as the Phantom 2 Vision+ will be able to maintain its position even in face of winds up to 25mph. Other improvements include a 3-axis electronic stabilizer that will help make smooth videos.
Interestingly enough there is also a way to allow the drone to fly by itself by plotting a GPS course, although built-in safety controls will ensure that the drone will not approach restricted air space, like an airport, and also keep itself at heights to comply with the law. These software improvements made to the Phantom 2 Vision+ are expected to make its way to older models later on.
