gta5Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V has been out for a while now but only for consoles. This is a little odd because previous Grand Theft Auto releases have made their way onto the PC as well, which has us wondering if Rockstar will ever get around to it. We’ve seen gamers sign the petition to get Rockstar to bring it onto the PC and that number has since grown to 700,000.

Yup, there’s about 700,000 people out there who wants Rockstar to bring Grand Theft Auto V onto the PC. To be fair it took Grand Theft Auto IV a while before it arrived for the PC. The game launched in April of 2008 and took about 8 months before it was released onto the PC in December 2008. By comparison, Grand Theft Auto V is taking slightly longer and with no official announcement in sight, it does seem like we could be in for a wait.

We have seen several instances in which the PC version of GTA 5 has popped up online, but given that Rockstar has yet to make an official announcement, we can only assume those listings were made in error or they were simply rumors. However back in 2012, Rockstar Games’ co-founder, Dan Houser, did state that the PC version was up for consideration, but apart from that we haven’t really heard or seen anything since.

It should be noted that Rockstar’s other game, Red Dead Redemption, got a similar “consideration”, but given that it’s already 2014, safe to say that we doubt the game will be given a PC release after all. According to the petition, they feel that modding has always been one of the reasons why the game was so popular amongst fans, and that it would be a shame if they skipped on the PC version.
