metal_gear_solid_5_ground_zeroes3Just how successful is Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes? Well, this recently introduced stealth-action game has, within expectations I might add, managed to ship more than a million copies of the game around the world – which would certainly make it a success. This phenomenal figure was announced by the game’s publisher Konami recently, although one will need to bear in mind that the total number of copies of a game shipped to retailers does not automatically equate to sales, since there could be a huge inventory sitting on store shelves that might end up in a landfill eventually.

In the U.S., however, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes happened to occupy sixth spot in the list of best-selling video games of the month, with the likes of Dark Souls II, Call of Duty: Ghosts, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Infamous: Second Son, and Titanfall overtaking it on the list.

Of course, there is also another important detail to take into consideration where the 1 million copies shipped is concerned – this refers to the total number of physical units that have been sent to retailers alone, so it has not taken into account the sales figures for the digital copies that have been distributed across the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 consoles.
