Konami has announced that platform exclusive content for Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, such as exclusive missions, will be opened for all next month. Basically what this means is that content that was previously exclusive to Xbox would be available for PlayStation and vice versa. Konami won’t be charging for this changeover, which will come through a DLC or downloadable content pack that will be released in May.

This announcement was made by the man behind Metal Gear Solid himself, Hideo Kojima, through this Kojima Productions podcast. It was later tweeted by Kojima’s assistant Ayako. Konami’s decision to spread the love across platforms will certainly be welcomed by fans of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes.

The DLC will include PlayStation exclusive Deja Vu mission and the Xbox exclusive Raiden Jamais Vu mission. This platform exclusive content previously required being unlocked by collecting all XOF patches hidden throughout the Camp Omega open world. It will be released on May 1st, however its possible that the DLC might take some time in going live across all regions.

It will be available for PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360. Support for Xbox One will be present as well, though the console is yet to be released in Japan. Microsoft only recently revealed when it intends to start selling its next-generation console in the Land of the Rising Sun.
