minecraft-16-updateIt is safe to say that Mojang’s Minecraft game is a pretty popular one. There are many reasons as to why the game is so popular. It could be due to the fact that it allows players to create their own worlds. It could also be the gameplay itself which is pretty straightforward and fun, but whatever the reason is, at the end of the day Mojang definitely has a hit on their hands.

That being said, Minecraft’s creator, Markus “Notch” Persson has recently taken to Twitter in which he proudly announced that the game had managed to hit the 15 million copies sold mark. Persson makes reference to the original Minecraft which was developed for the PC in mind, so we can only imagine that with Minecraft being available on other platforms as well, those numbers should be much higher.

Earlier this month we had reported that according to a post by Microsoft, it seems that Minecraft for the Xbox 360 managed to hit the 12 million mark in terms of copies of the game sold. That and the fact that the Xbox One and PS4/PS Vita are on their way too should be able to help generate sales as well, but what do you guys think so far? Are you impressed with Minecraft’s figures and do you think that those numbers can rise even further, or do you think that Minecraft might have hit its peak?
