One of the more customizable features of Android is the ability to theme it however you want, and the best part is that depending on the level of customization, you might not even need root access to be able to do it. This is compared to other platforms like iOS, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry 10 which are more rigid, where customization is basically changing the wallpaper and the ringtone.
However it seems that during a poll conducted by CrackBerry, they have found that the majority of those who participated in the poll want the ability to theme their BlackBerry 10 handsets. The votes came in at over 60%, while the remaining numbers were kind of split in the middle between saying no to theming, and that it doesn’t matter.
We guess this is particularly important to BlackBerry users because with BlackBerry 7, users could download themes or create their own themes if they wish. It’s that level of personalization that really gets a user to feel more connected to their phone, and maybe even to the brand which can help create loyalty.
Unfortunately it seems that theming is not a feature that BlackBerry is concentrating on at the moment, at least not for BlackBerry 10, but who knows, perhaps it might arrive at a later date, but in the meantime what do you guys think? Do you wish that you could create or download BlackBerry 10 themes?
