moto-g-forteJust the other day thanks to a tip by @evleaks, it was suggested that Motorola was working on a new Moto G handset called the Moto G Forte. At that time not much was known about the device but based on the photo and the rumors, it was suggested that the handset could be a more rugged version of the Moto G and could even come with waterproof capabilities as well.

It turns out that reality is definitely more boring because it seems that the Moto G Forte, as it has been launched in Latin American markets, is basically a Moto G that comes with the Grip Shell case preinstalled on it right out of the box.

For those who already own the Moto G, you guys are probably aware that Motorola is offering the Grip Shell cases for sale. In case the name wasn’t obvious, the Grip Shell cases offer the user a bit more heft and grip to their device for those who might need that added layer of protection in the event it drops to the floor.

However the Moto G phone itself is a pretty solid handset and it is a good buy if you’re on a budget and want something simple that will get the job done and then some. In fact Motorla is even throwing in 50GB of free Google Drive storage if you were to purchase the Moto G Forte. At the moment the handset is being sold via Nextel Mexico but no word on whether it will make it way to other parts of the world.
