Yes, much has been said about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 Active which would certainly have gotten people out there thinking – just how much different will this particular smartphone be compared to the Galaxy S5 which is already waterproof to a certain extent? After all, that was a gulf in safety standards between the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S4 Active, but what would separate the Galaxy S5 Active from the more “normal” flagship? That might still take some time to be answered, but at least we have a purported video of the device as shown above.

Earlier this morning, we took a look at one of the leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, which apparently hailed from the video above. While this alleged Galaxy S5 Active does look a whole lot more rugged than its vanilla flavored sibling, it does seem to carry the same rear camera (which came out tops in a blind test) in addition to a heart-rate sensor.

The person presenting this smartphone in the video said that the Galaxy S5 Active comes with a “very crisp display” that’s “not 1080p”, but “above that.” Are we talking about Quad HD (1,440 x 2,560) here?

There does not seem as though the fingerprint scanner is present, since it sports similar hardware buttons as its predecessor, instead of just a solitary home button as found on the standard issue Galaxy S5. It does look as though the handset in the video is bound for AT&T, carrying the model number SM-G870A which has already gained FCC approval.
