titanfall-patchRespawn’s Titanfall title is currently an exclusive for the Xbox 360, the Xbox One, and the PC platforms, which are basically platforms all owned by Microsoft. However you might recall that back in March, we reported on a rumor that the next Titanfall installment is expected to make its way onto other platforms as well.

Unfortunately neither Respawn nor EA could comment on the matter, but now it looks like the partnership between EA and Respawn Entertainment will continue, as confirmed by EA who recently announced the deal during the company’s financial briefing. According to EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, “EA is continuing its partnership with Vince Zampella and the Respawn Entertainment team, building on our success in delivering Titanfall, the biggest interactive entertainment event of the year so far.”

Wilson also adds, “Through a new publishing agreement, we’ll be working with Respawn to bring new Titanfall experiences to players worldwide.” Given that Titanfall was released just a few months ago, we reckon it’s still a bit early to talk about its sequel, but for those who thoroughly enjoyed the game in its current state, we guess you can rest assured knowing that there will be a sequel, although no mention of when a sequel might be taking place.

In the meantime, Titanfall gamers will just have to contend with DLCs if they’re looking for new content. The first DLC titled “Expedition” will be arriving in May. Respawn has also mentioned that future DLCs are expected to introduce new game modes, making things a little more interesting for Titanfall gamers.
