samsung-kitkat-update-list

Samsung has been quick in updating most of its existing and supported devices to Android 4.4 KitKat, the major Android software update that Google released late last year. Possibility of the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 KitKat update has been debated quite a lot over the past few months and if today’s report is correct then the update might not be released anytime soon.

Its not like Samsung isn’t supporting this smartphone. The Sprint variant of Galaxy S3 has already received the KitKat update last week. There were rumors before that this particular variant wouldn’t get the update due to its relatively low RAM but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Even after those rumors there were multiple reports claiming that the GT-I9300 will soon receive KitKat.

Today the folks at Sammobile have received a list of Samsung smartphones which are due to be updated to KitKat in the coming weeks. The list shows that devices like the Note 2 LTE, Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy Note 3 Neo will all get the update later this month. A handful of other devices will receive KitKat in June.

According to the tipster Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 users are out of luck right now because Samsung is facing issues with this update in the development phase. Apparently its having trouble implementing TouchWiz applications which ultimately stops the system apps from loading. Samsung has reportedly cancelled the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 KitKat update for now. No idea when we can expect it to drop.
