For those who are unfamiliar with RatedRR, it is a YouTube in which its creator, Rick Ryan, showcases different types of guns and puts them up against electronic devices. We have seen him take shots (literally) at devices like the NVIDIA Shield, and recently he also took aim at the iMac using an anti-tank rifle. This time round Ryan is looking to take out the HTC One M8 using the TrackingPoint XS1 rifle.

For those unfamiliar, the TrackingPoint XS1 is like a “smart” rifle. It comes with an integrated and networked tracking scope, a tracking tag, and a guided trigger mechanism. In fact the scope is also able to compensate for curvature of the earth, distance, elevation points, and wind, all of which are important, especially if you’re planning to take a shot from a really long distance.

To help make things easier, you can paint your target with a tag button and only when you have lined up your shot properly will the rifle let you fire off a shot, meaning that you won’t be wasting bullets at missed shots. Of course all of this seems a bit like overkill for the HTC One M8 which would be utterly destroyed even with a handgun, but this is RatedRR so we guess this is what we’ve come to expect.

In any case if you have a few minutes to spare, you might want to check out the video above to see the HTC One M8 blown away by a sniper rifle.
