Sprint and Virgin Mobile USA customers will soon have yet another waterproof smartphone to choose from. Starting May 9th the former will start selling the all new Kyocera Hydro VIbe. This 4G LTE compatible smartphone will make its way to Virgin Mobile USA on May 27th. Customers thus have the choice to either pick it up by putting the full cost down or go with Sprint if they don’t mind paying equal monthly installments for 24 months.

Sprint customers will be able to purchase Kyocera Hydro Vibe on Easy Pay for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $9.59. Virgin Mobile USA customers will have to pay $149.99 up front for this smartphone.

This smartphone is the latest addition to Kyocera’s lineup of waterproof Android smartphones. All models in the lineup can be submerged in up to one meter of water for up to half an hour. The Hydro Vibe has been built with “affordable style and everyday protection” in mind.

Apart from the thin bezel, another defining feature of this smartphone is the Smart Sonic Receive audio technology which the company claims lets users hear conversations more clearly in noisy environments.

It has a 4.5-inch qHD capacitive impact-resistant touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, wireless charging, NFC, 8 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front camera, 2,000mah battery and 8GB of onboard memory. The Hydro Vibe runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
