china cafeWe have seen many times in the past how too much gaming can be a bad thing. Sure, video games are fun, but there are some who just can’t seem to tear themselves away from the computer, which could lead to disastrous health consequences, such as death. The latest incident comes from China, where a man from the Hunan province was sent to the hospital after a 3 day gaming marathon.

According to a report from the Voice of China, the 26-year old collapsed in his seat while playing video games at an internet cafe from a brain hemorrhage. Apparently he had been gaming pretty much non-stop for the past 3 days and 3 nights, and was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors announced that he had suffered from brain hemorrhage.

The reports also suggested that the man in question wasn’t exactly in the best shape. He reportedly weighed around 100kg (around 220 pounds) and was eating fried chicken and drinking carbonated drinks during his binge gaming session. Thankfully he survived, although he is partially paralyzed, but doctors expect him to be able to recover most motor function, but could suffer from impaired speech and partial mental difficulties.

We guess this just shows that too much of a good thing can actually be bad for you. In fact developers like Blizzard have included “tips” in their games, asking gamers to take a break and enjoy and explore the world outside, not just the world in video games.
