nexus-7-2-review--010Will there, or won’t there, be a Google Nexus 8 tablet? We have heard the rumors, and it was just the other day that a tablet appeared on Google’s I/O website that had many thinking it was the Nexus 8. It turned out to be the Nexus 10, so does that mean we can’t expect a Nexus 8? The rumors are saying yes, and now according to MYCE, they are confirming it as well.

According to the website, they have started noticing that there were several posts on its site that are related to a device codenamed “Flounder”. This is a codename that we have heard about before, and it also seems to be in line with Google’s codenaming scheme for its Nexus devices, which are usually of the fish variety.

Google has since removed traces of the “Flounder” name used in previous posts on MYCE, although recent references have suggested that the device in question could be powered by a Tegra processor, and that it could even be of the 64-bit variety. Of course there’s no way of actually confirming this, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

Hopefully more details about the Nexus 8 could be unveiled during Google I/O which is scheduled to take place towards the end of June, so if you’d like to learn more, or find out about what’s in store for the Android platform, check back with us then for the details.
