After months and months of endless teasing nascent smartphone maker OnePlus finally unveiled its first device back in March. It has now got down to the business of actually making enough units to meet demand. Following the announcement the company has learnt several things which have impacted its delivery schedule. The schedule has been shuffled to ensure that the unit people most want is the first to hit shelves.

In an update late last month OnePlus said that it is increasing the product of 64GB Sandstone Black units while continuing to produce the 16GB Silk White version. It came to the company’s attention after the announcement that customers are more interested in the former which is why it is now devoting much of its time and resources towards making as many 64GB units as it can.

In an update on its official forums today the company has revealed that the production of 16GB Silk White units has been pushed back in favor of getting the 64GB Sandstone Black units outs as quickly as possible. As per the previous time frame provided by OnePlus this variant was supposed to be released in June.

Now the company is aiming to have it out by the end of this month provided that it doesn’t run into any major problems during the production cycle. Increased general availability of all models is expected by June.
