verizon-xperia-z2What you see here could very well be the upcoming Sony Xperia Z2 from Verizon, especially when you take into consideration the Verizon logo that is located right at the top of the smartphone’s front. Sony did mention before that the Xperia Z2 will not be making its way to the US any time in the immediate future, and will only arrive some time down the road in the form of an unlocked device that will be sold through Sony’s website. That might still be true, but how come the official Sony Xperia Google+ page posted an image of the Sony Xperia Z2 that has Verizon branding on it?

No longer is the Sony logo where it is supposed to be, instead, the large Verizon logo is located at the top of the device instead. The G+ model did not make any mention of Verizon as the mobile carrier of choice, and neither did it say as to which particular model it is, but it did say, “Be prepared for every adventure in the great outdoors with the waterproof and dust-resistant Xperia Z2.”

I would say that it is a matter of time now – we will just have to sit tight and wait to see whether Verizon will release this waterproof handset in due time.
