razer-taipan-whiteNintendo is a master at releasing an established console in the market with a new color that will eventually see a sales spike, and I don’t suppose the folks over at Razer do hope for the same thing to happen with word that they have launched the Razer Taipan gaming mouse in a shade of glossy white finish.

This flagship ambidextrous mouse will also boast of bright white lighting on the scroll wheel and logo to add to its imposing look, and will be fully PC and Mac compatible thanks to Synapse, which happens to be Razer’s online configurator software. Just in case you have a sense of deja vu, this is because the Razer Taipan White happens to be the second Razer peripheral that is on the receiving end of an all-white color treatment. The popular Razer Kraken Pro gaming headset was the first, of course.

I personally prefer my gaming peripherals such as a mouse and the keyboard to arrive in a shade of black, or some other dark colors. The reason is simple – all the dirt and grime do not show up too easily, which means one can spend more time gaming instead of devoting it to a cloth to wipe away the dirt. Apart from that, white plastic does seem to have the tendency of turning into a tinge of yellow after a while, which is not that classy looking anymore compared to a far more stoic black.
