rimacElectric cars have been touted by certain quarters to be the future of the automobile as nasty emissions are eliminated altogether, but it will still take a fair amount of time before the electric car is able to achieve the kind of range and for purists, performance that a gas-powered ride can. Tesla has thrown its hat into the ring before, but compared to the gas-powered supercars, it is unable to hold a candle to the likes of a Ferrari or Bugatti. Rimac’s Concept One, however, intends to turn the tables.

The fully electric Concept One prototype has been talked about since 2011, where it has been stated to be put up for sale at slightly less than a million bucks, despite the fact that it has yet to be sold since a real working model that is ready for our roads has yet to be released. Apparently, there will only be half a dozen Concept Ones that will be produced for those who have deep pockets and are interested, but what a ride it is!

The Concept One will sport a quartet of electric motors that will work in tandem to deliver a whopping 1,088 horsepower and 1,180 foot-pounds of torque. It is capable of going from 0-60 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds, maxing out at 190 miles per hour, where a full battery charge would deliver a range of 373 miles.
