Galaxy S5 Dx Samsung UK listingSo we have been hearing a lot of rumors that Samsung is planning a smaller Galaxy S5 handset which is tentatively known as the Galaxy S5 mini. This naming scheme hardly comes as a surprise given that it will be smaller than the Galaxy S5, and also because there were its predecessors, the Galaxy S4 mini and the Galaxy S3 mini, which adds a bit of historical “proof”.

However according to a recent tweet by @evleaks, it has been suggested that Samsung could instead rename the handset to the Galaxy S5 Dx. This is thanks to a screenshot captured of Samsung’s UK website which has revealed the device in question. It is unclear what the “Dx” stands for, but it looks like Samsung has been on a name change roll these days.

Recently the South Korean tech giant launched the Galaxy K zoom which many expected to be called the Galaxy S5 Zoom, which once again was based on its predecessor, the Galaxy S4 Zoom, so we guess it’s not surprising that Samsung might want to shake things up a bit. That being said we have no idea when Samsung plans on launching the device, but as a quick recap, here are some of its rumored specs.

For starters, the Galaxy S5 Dx is rumored to feature a 4.5-inch display. It will also be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor from Qualcomm and will come with 1.5GB of RAM. There will also be 16GB of onboard storage, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, a 2,000mAh battery and is also rumored to be both water and dust resistant.
