When it comes to Android-powered smartphones, I am quite sure that many of us would like to settle for one of the more established names in the industry such as Samsung and LG. However, this Chinese startup known as Smartisan (a mashup of “smart” and “artisan”) has revealed the Smartisan T1 that will run on an Android-based Smartisan OS.
<1--more-->The Smartisan T1 might be from China, but it does not intend to share the playground with the likes of high end and affordable devices from its fellow countrymen such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Nubia. Basically, the T1 has been positioned as a premium smartphone, sporting a 5-inch Full HD IPS display, Gorilla Glass 3 implemented on both sides of the front and back, a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2GB RAM, a choice of either 16GB or 32GB of internal memory, and a non-removable 2,570mAh battery.
It is rather unfortunate that there is no microSD memory card slot here, missing this feature out is going to be a sore point for many. As for its connectivity options, it will not come up short, sporting 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC and AT&T-friendly 3G bands. Expect a 3G model to hit China before July for approximately $480, while there will be a 4G-enabled version arriving for around $560 before 2014 comes to a close.
