Sony recently updated its Action Camera lineup with the AS100V model. This model brings advanced image stabilization and low-light shooting capabilities for smooth HD video output. The camera is capable of adjusting stabilization and exposure based on shooting environment. To promote its entire Action Camera lineup Sony today introduced its “Team Action Cam,” a range of action sports athletes spanning across mountain bike, snowboard, ski, motocross and rallycross.

Motocross legend Ricky Carmichael will be headlining the Team Action Cam along with U.S. Ski Olympian Gus Kenworthy and snowboarding legend Terje Haakonsen. They join the existing group of Sony athletes which includes popular big mountain snowboarder Jeremy Jones.

Sony has formed this team as part of its aggressive marketing plans for 2014-2015 geared towards the action sports industry. It will also be getting into resort partnerships, large-scale video production and special event sponsorships to push its Action Camera line. Action Cam stories, content and more will be available on www.actioncambysony.com, a new interactive microsite that has recently been launched. The full roster of all athletes in the newly formed team is also available on the new website.

Sony’s new AS100V Action Cam is now available for $300, a kit with the Live View Remote is available for $400. The remote accessory uses Wi-Fi to provide live image preview on LCD and is able to control up to five cameras simultaneously, making it easier to coordinate and execute multi-camera shots.
