Photo filters are very popular. Almost everyone has used them at some point in time to add extra flair to otherwise “normal” cellphone photos. Filters are one of the main reasons why Instagram became so popular, and why almost every other photo app decided to incorporate them as well. What if you could see the world through one endless filter? Well that’s possible now thanks to the “Tens” sunglasses.

The startup behind Tens describes them as “sunglasses that lend an uplifting tint to the world beyond the lens.” They’re different from typical sunglasses which block out light with desaturated cold colors by working with “the warmth of the sun” to add a filter-like effect to the world.

That doesn’t make them any less useful than conventional sunglasses. The lens features UV400 protection which blocks 100 percent of the harmful rays, so its not a novelty product but a bona fide pair of sunglasses. The CR-39 plastic polymer construction of the lens ensures that it holds up to the rigours of everyday life.

At this point in time Tens is only available in “The Classic” frame which is a unisex fit and comes in four matte colors. Since the startup is seeking funding through Indiegogo, a pre-order for delivery By June 2014 can be placed at the campaign page. They’ve already blown through their funding goal by over 100 percent.
