shred-sessionFor those of you who grew up on the Sony PSOne back in the day, I am quite sure that you would have spent quite a fair number of hours sweating it out on a gamepad with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game franchise, instead of actually expressing oneself on the skateboard in a skate park. Well, UK studio Big Bit intends to bring the Tony Hawk experience to the small screen by working on an exclusive mobile version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise for iOS and Android platforms, with Activision being the publisher of choice.

Known as Tony Hawk’s Shred Session, this upcoming title will boast of two gameplay modes which will add a touchscreen-specific spin on the standard issue skateboarding mechanics. In the core Shred Sessions mode, there will be objective-based gameplay in the same vein as that of classic series entries, allowing players to compare their best scores with their mates. Apart from that, a Survival mode is also thrown into the mix, where players are challenged to come up with their trick combos for as long as possible.

Expect Tony Hawk’s Shred Session to arrive on iTunes and Google Play later this summer, although pricing details have yet to be determined.
