Not too long ago Amazon unveiled the Fire TV, its very first set-top box. There’s a lot you can do with the device and it certainly has a few features that some of its competitors don’t. That might have contributed to the fact that Amazon sold out of all units shortly after launch but it looks like now the company might have a few to spare. Amazon is emailing some of its customers an invitation to try Fire TV free for one full month.

The offer is by-invitation only and exclusively for the person Amazon sends the email to, you can’t transfer it to a friend or family member. There’s a limit of one free trial unit per customer until supplies last. To have one shipped the customer needs to add a Fire TV to their cart by clicking on the “Apply offer” button in the email.

Once the order is placed Amazon will ship the unit free of cost. The customer can try it for free for 30 days. If they like it they can keep it and Amazon will automatically charge the credit card for $99. If they don’t they can send it back to the company, return shipping is on Amazon.

Unfortunately there’s no way to register for an invite so if you’d like a free trial keep your fingers crossed for an invitiation from Amazon. If you’re not sure whether you want to buy it or not, take a look at our detailed Amazon Fire TV review.
