apple_back_to_school-580x293Heads up students, if you were thinking about getting a new Mac, iPad, or iPhone for school, word on the street has it that Apple will be kicking off their Back To School promotion on the 1st of July. This is according to the folks at MacRumors who claims that they were tipped off to the upcoming promotion by one of their sources.

According to their source, 2014’s Back To School promotion will be similar to the one held in 2013, which coincidentally enough was also launched around the same time as well. What this means is that students who purchase a new Mac computer will be given a $100 iTunes App Store gift card, while those who purchase an iPad or iPhone will be given a $50 gift card instead.

Granted Apple’s products are certainly priced a lot more than a $50-$100 gift card, but if you were planning on buying an Apple product to begin with, we guess the free gift card would just be a nice bonus and could let you purchase some apps that you held off on buying before. The Back To School promotion is also expected to be held in various countries, with the amount given out in the gift cards differing based on the country it is being held in.

Apple’s retail stores are expected to be decorated to help push the promotion overnight, so we guess we will just have to wait until tomorrow to see if the Back To School promotion has become official and if there are any differences compared to last year’s event.
