asus-k014ASUS is a name that those of us out there who want a budget Android-powered tablet ought to be familiar with, not to mention they happen to churn out their fair share of notebooks and Ultrabooks for the discerning masses to boot. Having said that, it was not too long that ASUS showed off a new range of Android-powered tablets that came in 7”, 8”, and 10 form factors, running on an Intel Atom processor along the way. However, it seems that ASUS is not quite done just yet with their tablet revolution, having a mystery model, the ASUS K014, appear in the database of benchmark utility GFXBench.

The ASUS K014 does seem to come with an 8.9” display as well as Intel’s Atom Z3745 quad-core Bay Trail processor. The 8.9” display will feature a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, where it does seem to be accompanied by 2GB RAM as well as 32GB of internal memory, clearly making this one of the higher end models in terms of hardware specifications so far.

Apart from that, do expect to see it arrive with a 4.7MP camera at the back, a 1.2MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetoth connectivity, GPS support, alongside Android 4.4 KitKat as the operating system of choice right out of the box. It remains to be seen as to when this particular tablet will arrive, and just what kind of moniker will it sport when that happens, so stay tuned.
