Smartwatches are useful if you want to keep an eye on your smartphone’s notifications without having to fish it out of your pocket or bag every single time it buzzes. However it can be a bit daunting to actually reply to an email or message from a device that has a tiny display. One can try dictating but there’s almost always a mixed user experience with that particular feature. To lessen the pain to some extent, popular Android keyboard maker Fleksy has now launched an app for the Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch.

Fleksy for Samsung Gear 2 puts a full QWERTY keyboard on the smartwatch so users can not only receive text messages but also reply to them. Still, using a QWERTY keyboard on a 1.63-inch screen is not going to be a walk in the park. It needs to be supported by predictive technology that aids users when they type.

Fleksy counts on its gesture commands, minimal design and infamous predictive technology to ensure that users don’t have a hard time when typing away on their smartwatch. Even the demonstration video posted by the company shows that while the user doesn’t always hits the right letters the keyboard is very much capable of guessing the correct words.

Those who are interested in trying out Fleksy for Samsung Gear 2 can get the app for their smartwatch from the Samsung app store.
