Samsung-Galaxy-Note-Pro-09We know about Samsung’s plans for devices with flexible displays as we have seen with the Samsung Galaxy Round, but could Samsung be taking things to the next level in 2015 with devices with displays that can actually be folded? Well apparently that’s what the Korea media seems to suggest in a report in which they claim that in 2015, Samsung could release a tablet with a folding display.

Now flexible displays can hardly be called foldable displays, so it would be quite a leap for Samsung, but at the same time, a patent filed by Samsung has revealed the company’s plans for a foldable tablet, or at the very least indicates that the company could be interested in pursuing such a device.

Apparently prototypes of the alleged foldable tablet have already been made and that Samsung is currently working hard to bring it to a commercial level, and if all goes according to plan, then yes, 2015 could be when we can look forward to a tablet that folds up. We’re not sure how the device will look like, although we can imagine that such a device could end up being rather bulky.

At the same time with a tablet that is foldable, Samsung could take things to the next level by creating devices that could act as a tablet and a phone at the same time, allowings user to fold the screen to make it smaller to use as a phone, or unwrapping it to use it as a tablet. It’s an intriguing idea but what do you guys think? Is this something you might be interested in?
