We’ve said it many times in the past about how no software is completely free of bugs, and if you need further proof of this, it seems that one gamer has managed to find a glitch in a 1985 copy of Super Mario Bros. Yup, a game that’s almost 30 years old still has bugs left in it that can be discovered if you look hard enough.

So what is this bug, you ask? Well basically it’s a glitch that allows players to gain pretty much infinite lives, so if you have problems trying to stay alive in the game, then exploiting this bug will be a good way to ensure you won’t have to restart levels in the event that you die. From what we understand of the glitch, it can be quite hard to activate and it can be quite a tedious task, but if you’re all about the infinite lives, then it could be worth your time.

Since this is a super old game before there were such things as downloadable patches, we doubt Nintendo will want to address the glitch themselves, but if you’d like to learn more about the glitch and see how to activate it, head on over to Retrocollect for the details, or check it out in the video above to see it in action.
