Minecraft has made its mark on consoles and mobile devices, it has sold 15 million copies on PC, there’s no denying its popularity. The team behind this game constantly keep on improving it and now they’re working on the “biggest update ever” for Minecraft Pocket Edition. At beta version is being offered right now to people who would like to try the new features early. A formal release is expected in the near future once any remaining bugs are squashed.

You can certainly take Mojang’s word for it that Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.9.0 is the biggest update ever. Changes include addition of more than two dozen new blocks, updated biomes, unlimited worlds, a new culling algorithm, five additional mobs and much more. A plethora of bug fixes and tweaks are also present.

The entire list of changes is available in the official blog post. New features also include new culling of clouds, new falling mechanics for gravel and sand, new insta ticking of water and lava. Players will also find that tile entities are now saved differently.

Those who are on Android can get access to a beta version first to test out the laundry list of new features. To get hands on the beta version interested people have to join a Google community and then sign up to receive updates.
