mota-g2The world of wearable technology is starting to get more and more crowded, which can be said to be a good thing if you happen to want to see an explosion of such mobile devices happen on a large scale. MOTA has just updated their range of wearables with the introduction of the SmartWatch G2, where this particular smartwatch does share a lot of resemblance to its predecessor that launched earlier in the year. Hmmm, it is not even a full calendar year yet and a sequel has already been released? Surely the folks over at MOTA must be in a hurry, or they botched the earlier release and would like to correct whatever earlier “mistakes” with the SmartWatch G2.

In what is deemed to be a pleasant surprise, the MOTA SmartWatch G2 would retain a similar price tag of $80 a pop, and since this is a newer model, it ought to arrive with its fair share of hardware improvements, such as having a built-in microphone alongside support for Siri and Google Now. This would enable users of the SmartWatch G2 to speak out commands as well as ask questions without having to fumble with your smartphone that is tucked away nicely in your pocket somewhere.

Expect the MOTA SmartWatch G2 to play nice with Android and iOS platforms, where it connects to such devices via Bluetooth 3.0. It will also feature a vibration alert to notify you of new messages or incoming calls, apart from the staple OLED display, of course. Shipping of this $80 timepiece commences this June 20th.
