pluggy lockSometimes we just want to hang our phone around our necks as opposed to being in our pockets. This can be because it’s too noisy to hear our phones ring in our pockets, so by having it around our neck, it makes it easier. Now lanyards are great and can come in handy, but unfortunately most smartphones do not have a dedicated slot where you can attach a lanyard.

Sure, you could opt for third-party cases, but what if you wanted to keep your existing case, or not use a case at all? Well that’s where the Pluggy Lock comes in. The Pluggy Lock is a Kickstarter project that claims to have managed to hit its funding goal in just 12 hours. As we can see on their Kickstarter page, it appears to be true as the project is sitting at $49,000 which is almost 500% more than its original goal of $10,000.

So what is the Pluggy Lock? Well the Pluggy Lock is essentially an accessory for your smartphone. You insert the accessory into your phone’s 3.5mm audio jack, give it a twist, and it locks into place. From there users will be able to attach a variety of attachments to it, like a lanyard, for example, or even keychains if you’re looking for a way to accessorize and decorate your phone.

The inventors of the Pluggy Lock have even create a Selfie-Dock which uses the Pluggy Lock to secure itself into place, thus allowing you to prop your phone up to watch movies, take selfies, or create stop motion videos. Like we said the Kickstarter project has managed to reach its goal but if you don’t mind taking a look at it, hit up its Kickstarter page for the details.
